Daterra’s philosophy goes beyond quality, research and a great espresso. It embodies a Sustainable Coffee Program that preserves the Eco-Social System around its plantations. This passion for the environment turns a coffee farm into a garden surrounded with native trees, wildlife and human development. Aspects of Daterra’s Rainforest Alliance certification include preservation of soil and natural resources, no depletion of virgin forests for coffee plantations and fair labor conditions and respect for workers.

In May 2003, Daterra celebrated its first fully sustainable harvest of espresso quality beans certified by many Brazilian and International Institutions. Daterra is best known for its innovative research, its respect for the environment and its high quality coffee. Their coffee has been widely recognized in competitions such as BSCA (Brazil Specialty Coffee Association) Cup of Excellence.
Plantations are located in the sub-tropical regions of the Cerrado (State of Minas Gerais) and of the Mogiana (State of Sao Paulo) at an average altitude of 3,800 ft. The climate, altitude, rainfall, and unique location, make Daterra one of the world’s finest growing regions for specialty dry- natural coffees. Daterra has divided its land mass into 88 mini-farms demarcated by coffee variety; Villa Borghesi being one of them.

The Brazil Daterra Villa Borghesi has an intriguing fragrance, floral and almost like a hazelnut extract. It has a mild to medium acidity with a medium-full body. The Villa Borghesi is a pleasant and complex clean cup. Its intense sweet-fruity
